Affiliate programs are a nice way to generate additional revenue from your website. I have been using them for many years to both promote my products as well as promoting others on my website. I have learned a few tricks of the trade over the years and wanted to share them with you in this issue. As always, I want to hear from you! Maintain your website now from everywhere without any programming knowledge: insert and change HTML tables, upload and insert pictures, create links, format texts, place eye-catchers, "save" your HTML files "as" a new document, activate only certain pages or parts of a page for the purpose of administration. Choosing the Right Affiliate Links for Your Website

Affiliate Programs provide you the opportunity to generate additional revenue from your website by promoting other people's products and services. In essence, you are acting as a sales channel for other companies and getting paid based on the number of clicks, leads, or sales you send to that company. Sounds great, but wait, nothing is that easy...

In order to generate significant revenue from an Affiliate Program you need two things. Traffic coming to your website and a focused Affiliate strategy. This article will focus on executing a successful Affiliate strategy for your website since you have greater control over that than bringing additional traffic to your website. For tips on bringing more traffic to your site, browse through our Newsletter Archive for helpful articles and resources.

Affiliate Programs will pay you three ways. Pay-per-click (PPC), pay-per-lead(PPL), or pay-per-sale(PPS). Every program is different and some use a combination of the three methods listed above. In general, PPS programs will have the highest payout because you don't get paid unless your affiliate gets paid. You should research the payout method closely before choosing a program.

I have included 3 steps below that should help you design an effective Affiliate strategy for your website.

    1. Choose Affiliate Links that match the content of your website
This is most important step in effectively using an Affiliate Program to make extra money from your website. Your website visitors are coming to your website because they are interested in your content. They are only going to click on your Affiliate links if those links relate to their interests. A common mistake is selecting Affiliate links with the highest payout regardless of what they are selling. If the link doesn't match the content of your website it doesn't matter what it is paying because no one will click on it!

    2. Blend your affiliate links in with your content
If you simply create a page of "links" that is full of Affiliate banners and text ads you are not going to be very successful. The key to a successful Affiliate links is seamlessly integrating them within your content. If you can't find an easy way to add an Affiliate link within your content, then that affiliate is probably not a good match for your site.

    3. Actively promote your Affiliates
Choose affiliate links that you believe in and your visitors will value. Once you find these links actively promote them through email, newsletters, and within your website.

So now that you know what types of links to choose where do you get them? Good question. I have provided links to a few of the top Affiliate Program Service Providers below:
